NGA St. Louis campus construction update: Glass marks progress in August
Construction on National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s new facility in north St. Louis is progressing.
The main operations building, the MOB, received an eye-catching “touch of glass” during the last full month of summer as construction workers began installing the glass curtainwall exterior panels on the east and west employee entrances. More glass curtainwall will be going up on the MOB’s southside main entrance in September.
Interior construction work on the food service vendor area kitchen and server areas has begun. In the weeks ahead, look for this area within the MOB to continue to take on more definition.
N2W’s construction crew continues to dig out the sophisticated underground storm drainage structure located in the MOB’s courtyard area.
Roof workers continue to lay down more of the MOB’s permanent weather-resistant rubber membrane tiles designed to provide a highly effective moisture repellant seal.
Initial work on the grand staircase construction is also taking shape in the main lobby foyer area, and work continues on the observation deck terrace up on the third floor.
Structural work on the east and west parking garages is essentially complete. Steady progress continues on the brickwork being placed on the west garage’s elevator tower.
