Media invited to NGA transfer of authority ceremony Feb. 7

 SPRINGFIELD, Virginia

U.S. Navy Vice Adm. Robert Sharp is scheduled to assume command as National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency director during a transfer of authority ceremony in the Allder Auditorium at NGA headquarters here Feb. 7.

The 2 p.m. ceremony will be officiated by Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Joseph Kernan, and followed by NGA Director Robert Cardillo’s retirement ceremony, officiated by Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats.

Sharp previously served as the commander of the U.S. Navy’s Office of Naval Intelligence and director of the National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office.

Both ceremonies are open to members of the media.
