Why Citrix Workspace?

Citrix Workspace is a cloud-based user interface that allows users to access applications, desktops, and content from anywhere through a single sign-on. It was designed to ensure all products look the same, work well together, and provide a seamless experience despite the platform, device or user location. 

 

Installing Citrix Workspace

 

The following instructions apply to Citrix Workspace 2112 or newer. The current version is 2303, which was released March 29, 2023. Note: If you currently have Citrix Receiver (the deprecated version of Workspace), please uninstall it PRIOR to installing Citrix Workspace.

1. From the Citrix website (https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/ ), select Citrix Workspace app 2023 for Windows

2. On the next screen, select Download Citrix Workspace app for Windows

3. After the file downloads, you will be asked whether you want to Open or Save As.

4. When prompted, select Run. If you are only prompted to download, install the application after you save the file. 

5. Follow the on-screen directions in the next four images to complete Citrix Workspace installation.

Set .ICA file to Launch without Prompt in Web Browser

Please make sure to allow pop-ups for https://mydesktop.nga.mil/  and https://mydesktopwest.nga.mil/  prior to launching a desktop or application.

Edge:

1.    Navigate to the Citrix Workspace Store or Citrix Storefront Store.
2.    Select the resource you are trying to access – Application or Desktop.
3.    Edge automatically saves the file to the downloads folder by default.
4.    When the file appears on the bottom left, select the "..." This is the drop-down list for the file in the download bar. Then, select Always Open Files of This Type.

Google Chrome:

1.    Navigate to the Citrix Workspace Store or Citrix Storefront Store.
2.    Select the resource you are trying to access – Application or Desktop.
3.    Chrome will prompt a dialog box to save the .ica file.
4.    Select save to save it in the Downloads folder.
5.    When the file appears on the bottom left, select the "^". This is the drop-down list for the file in the download bar. Then, select Always Open Files of This Type.

Associate ICA files to Citrix Connection Manager

1. Go to the Windows Start Menu > Settings > Home > Apps > Default Apps and, at the bottom, select the option titled Choose default apps by file type.

2. Scroll down to .ica (listed alphabetically) and then select the resource Citrix Connection Manager.
