NGA donates over $6,000 in school supplies

NGA employees collected over $6,000 in school supplies during the 2018 Back to School Drive that took place the month of August. This is the third year the Military Enlisted Council and the Partners in Education program have hosted the drive.

Members of NGA’ police force collected nearly $2,000 in donations.

“When I noticed that [NGA] was doing a school supply drive, I initiated a supply drive within the department,” said NGA Police Sgt. Tchella Larry. “I told each shift that I would purchase the back packs if they would fill them. I can say that everyone in the department stepped up and we had a large amount of supplies to donate for the drive.”

Materials were delivered to Woodley Hills Elementary School, in Alexandria, and Saratoga Elementary School in Springfield, the first week of September.

“We are so thankful for NGA’s support of Woodley Hills Elementary School,” said Teresa Parton, administrative assistant at Woodley Hills. “I cannot thank [NGA] enough for [its] support of our students.”

Members of the Saratoga Elementary School staff also thanked NGA employees.

“Thank you so much for keeping Saratoga in mind,” said Katherine Sharpe, Saratoga Elementary School counselor. “We are so fortunate to have NGA’s support.”

The sponsors extend their sincerest appreciation to the employees of NGA for their generosity and kindness, helping to make it a little easier for children to kick off the 2018-2019 school year.
