Lt. Gen. James C. King

Lt. Gen. James C. King directed the National Imagery and Mapping Agency from 1998 to 2001. Under his leadership, NIMA – which was renamed NGA in 2003 – successfully supported operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Operation Allied Force in Kosovo. Upon Lt. Gen. King’s retirement, former DCI George Tenet said that his “clear thoughts and decisive actions have left NIMA a stronger and better place."
Lt. Gen. King was inducted into the GEOINT Hall of Fame in 2005.
