NGA West Executive & N2W Program Director
Susan Pollman
Sue Pollmann is serving NGA in the dual functions of NGA West Executive (WX) and Program Director, Next NGA West (N2W). As the WX, she is the NGA Director's point person on the ground at the facilities in the St. Louis metro area, ensuring synchronization across all west mission areas, providing representation for the interests of the workforce and interacting on behalf of the Agency with the local community. As the Program Director for N2W, Sue oversees the planning, design and construction of a new campus in St. Louis to replace the NGA 2nd Street facility. She was first appointed to the senior service in June 2009, serving as the Acquisition West Executive and a Group Chief for Office of Contract Services. Prior to her current assignments she served as Director, Foundation GEOINT Group in the Source Operations Directorate.
Entering Federal Service as a Contract Specialist intern with the US Army Aviation and Troop Command, Sue was assigned her first leadership position managing the contracting program for the AH-64 Apache Helicopter targeting, night vision and fire control radar systems. During her tenure with the US Army she provided strong leadership in the areas of acquisition streamlining and including the services first use of performance-based and alpha-contracting initiatives in procurement of the Apache Fire Control Radar.
Sue has been with NGA since 1997. She led the St. Louis Contracting Center during a period of tremendous growth in staffing and in contracting programs. After joining Source Operations, she was able to translate her background in acquisition and provide focus on productive use of resources, GEOINT community outreach, industry engagement and employee professional development.
Sue's current roles as WX and N2W Program Director combine leadership of a team dedicated to providing a transformational mission support facility and unique visibility into how that transformation will impact NGA's responsiveness to national security needs. Her engagement with our international partners, industry, federal, state and local officials and civic organizations recognizes the importance of both NGA west operations and the N2W project to a wide group of stakeholders.
Sue has been recognized with the Outstanding Women of NGA Award and the NGA Supervisory Role Model Award. She is a graduate of Leading the Intelligence Community, the Harvard National Leadership Preparedness Initiative, and the US Army Logistics and Acquisition Management Executive Development Program. She represents NGA as a member of the St. Louis Regional Business Council, is a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps and holds a Level III DAWIA certification in Contracting. She is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a B.A. in Political Science.
A lifelong resident of the St. Louis metro area, Sue was born and raised in the village of Valmeyer, IL and now resides with her husband David in St. Louis County, MO. They have three adult sons.
