Jan. 12, 2010: Haiti Earthquake

In January 2010, an earthquake of epic proportions shook the island nation of Haiti, killing over 100,000 people and devastating critical infrastructure. Assisting the State Department, USAID, USSOUTHCOM and DHS, NGA immediately began assessing the extent of the infrastructure damage, mapping the remaining medical facilities and tracking the build-up and status of Internally Displaced Person’s (IDP) camps.
