Tips on entering your Job History and Knowledges/Skills/Abilities (KSA) Narrative Text
The Job History section is limited to 15,000 characters, which is the approximate equivalent of a two-page standard resume in a 10 point font. Begin with your current position and include employer's name, start and end dates (month and year), position title and salary. We suggest you have your Job History and any required Knowledges/Skills/Abilities Narratives completed in a word processing software program so you can copy/paste these directly into the appropriate areas. Do not use fancy treatments such as italics, underline, bold, shadows, and reverse type (white letters on black background). Avoid vertical and horizontal lines, graphics and boxes. Include country(ies) other than the United States in which you have citizenship.
The Knowledges/Skills/Abilities (KSA) Narrative section is limited to 20,000 characters, which is the approximate equivalent of three pages of text in a 10 point font. Not every job opportunity will indicate the requirement to submit KSAs. Therefore, read each job opportunity carefully.
Some job opportunities may require that additional application materials be submitted, so please read each job opportunity in its entirety and follow up accordingly.
*Misrepresentation
Intentional misrepresentations in application documents raise serious doubts about the applicant’s honesty and fitness for employment and can be sufficient to establish that the applicant is unsuitable for Federal employment.
